ANC Statement on bi-elections in Makhado, Ward 5

The ANC will take part in a bi-election to be held on Wednesday, 23 October 2013, at the Makhado Local Municipality, Ward 5. The ward is comprised of various villages including Tiyani, Magoro and Olifantshoek. The vacancy has resulted from the resignation of an independent Councillor. The IEC will facilitate elections in the ward as various political parties will be jostling for power in this ward.

A total of 7 Voting Stations will be opened from 7h00-21h00 on the day. There are over 6 690 eligible voters in the Ward and the ANC expects the majority of these voters to turn out for the by-elections. The ANC has got a traceable record of service delivery in Makhado and expect a resounding victory of the ward. ANC Volunteers and supporters continue to door-to-door campaigns to woe support of community members and will heighten its effort over the weekend to encourage voters to participate in this all important by-election.
