Statement on Vote Registration

Statement on Vote Registration

3 November 2013

The African National Congress in Limpopo calls on all citizens to make use of the voter registration weekend this Saturday and Sunday (09-10 November 2013) to ensure they are on the voters roll for 2014 general election. We are further calling on our youth born in 1993 and 1994 to visit the voter stations to register as first time voters.

By checking that they are registered in the voting district where they live, eligible voters will make sure they can vote in these crucial elections. By voting in the 2014 general election, citizens of this province will be able to determine how their legislature and parliament are run to better their living conditions.

The ANC welcomes the progress made during the IEC`s targeted registration programme, and is confident that this weekend`s activities will substantially increase the number of eligible voters correctly registered.

Over the coming weekend, the ANC`s registration campaign will hit a high note with all structures going door-to-door to mobilise communities to register to exercise their democratic right to vote.

The ANC is confident that citizens of the Limpopo Province will turn out in large numbers to register over the weekend.
