Limpopo road crash victims` families: condolences

The African National Congress sendsits deepest condolences to all families and friends of the 16 people who died in two unfortunate motor vehicle accidents last Thursday, 22 September, 2011 in Limpopo.

Six pre-school children and one adult were sadly killed in Siloam near Thohoyandou. The other nine people lost their livesin a head-on collision in Northam.

David Masondo, ANC Limpopo Spokesperson said: "We are deeply saddened both these terrible accidents. We would like to pass our sincerest condolences to all the families whose loved ones have nowpassed; especially to the parents of the six little pre-school children whose lives have been so tragically shortened."

"We also note the commendable work done by our provincial Department of Roads and Transport through the Arrive Alive Campaign and building safe public tarred roads. However, these accidents clearly indicate that more still need to done. Therefore, we call on the department and motorists to work together in the Arrive Alive Campaign to ensure a reduction in the number of accidents on national roads," concluded the spokesperson.
